The International Conference MicroTherm - "Microtechnology and Thermal Problems in Electronics"; has been organised periodically since 1996. The success of the first seminar and successive conferences led us to the eighth edition. The Conference main goal was and is to give the possibility to present the achievements of experienced and young researchers as well as students that form their first steps in the world of science.

Thermal problems are of great and still growing importance in electronics. They can be met in semiconductor devices, integrated and hybrid circuits, electronic equipment and need to be taken into consideration at various stages of design, production, testing and operation of all electronic elements and devices. Usually, thermal aspect is a part of whole, complex problem; hence, the achievements in the field of thermal management possess the interdisciplinary character. One of the areas where thermal phenomena are of great importance is microtechnology. Due to the rapid development of this field of science as well as interest of participants of the previous editions of the MicroTherm, technological subjects have been distinguished and MicroTherm'2009 is being organised as the International Conference of Microtechnology and Thermal Problems in Electronics.
